# OpenVid

> OpenVid is an open-source, self-hosted video presentation editor with editable scenes and bring-your-own AI provider keys. Code is AGPL-3.0-only. Optional AI generation incurs provider charges.

## Capabilities
Editable text, shapes, images, clips and audio; native scene animations; trim, speed, transitions, gain and fades; AI scene proposals; provider-based image/video/voice/music generation and transcription; ElevenLabs voice library, design and consent-gated cloning; PDF/PPTX page imports, DOCX/text imports, SRT captions, screen/camera/microphone recording; local HyperFrames MP4/WebM/GIF export.

Six complete fictional business examples include local assets and finished 1080p videos. Editing and rendering existing assets do not require API keys.

## Supported connections
OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, ElevenLabs, fal.ai, Replicate and OpenAI-compatible endpoints. Capabilities vary by provider/model. Pexels, Pixabay and Wikimedia Commons provide stock search/import. No credentials are included.

## Requirements and limits
Python 3.13+, Node.js 22+, FFmpeg/ffprobe and supported Chromium. LibreOffice for PPTX import. One application process per persistent data volume. Browser cookies identify private workspaces. No managed SaaS accounts, Google Drive integration, or cross-workspace live collaboration. This is not a complete Google Vids or Google Flow clone.
